Vortex development is lead by Mod Organizer developer Tannin. Vortex is meant to replace NMM, with several features derived from MO. We expect public alpha in January-February 2018. Avrie is currently doing a proper installation with WB, as you might have noticed from forum posts. WB can't run FOMODs, so you would need to run them with NMM. Again, the version in Nexus is out of date for Fallout 4, but there is a development build with proper support. MO2 version in Nexus is out of date and lacks features of the current development build. Active fork is under development and has taken big leaps recently. It still has few issues, because Tannin didn't finish it, when he moved to work with Vortex for Nexus.

Mod Organizer 2 works for both Fallout 4 and Skyrim SE.It will never work with Fallout 4 or Skryim SE.
